Overview:
Oxidil 500 IM Injection contains Ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. This formulation is administered intramuscularly (IM) and is effective against conditions such as bacterial meningitis, sepsis, intra-abdominal infections, otitis media (ear infections), and other serious infections.
Uses:
Treats bacterial meningitis and sepsis
Effective for intra-abdominal infections, acute otitis media (ear infections), bone and joint infections
Used for complicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) and skin infections
Treats sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and syphilis
Side Effects:
Common: Injection site reactions (pain, swelling), rash, diarrhea
Less common: Nausea, vomiting, headache
Rare: Severe allergic reactions, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea
Precautions:
Inform your doctor if you have a history of allergies to antibiotics, especially cephalosporins
Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver disease
